how do i change the arm that closes the damper on a model 2700? on the end it has the buck stove logo.

can i use my buck stove fireplace if the fan or i guess its called a blower , doesn’t work ? i have never used an indoor fireplace and really don’t know what im doing.

can you burn coal in a buck stove? i dont know how to tell if it is designed for both wood and coal. the only information i got is where the switch for winter and summer has the name buck stove with a deer between the words.
